Volunteer
The exceptional volunteer program at Our House provides individual care unparalleled in other facilities. Residents of Our House benefit from the generosity of approximately 160 volunteers who provide a multitude of services including cooking, laundry, facility maintenance tasks, reception, gardening, massage, spiritual consultation, personal care, and companionship. Some of these functions are normally paid positions in other facilities. At Our House, the volunteer program represents the equivalent of an additional seven full-time staff and allows us to focus our dollars toward direct resident care.
Who to Contact
The volunteer program is managed by Director of Volunteers, Kathryn Siebert, and Volunteer Coordinator, Nathan Buck. Ms. Siebert and Mr. Buck are responsible for all administration, recruitment, screening, communication, training and mediation of this program, in conjunction with other programs serving the direct needs of the residents. Kathryn Siebert was named the Portland 2003 Outstanding Nonprofit Volunteer Manager.
