Medication Aide / Certified Medication Aide

Nursing Department

 

Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medication Aide (or someone who will soon be certified) to work part time in our residential care facility.  This CMA will have the benefits of working within the unique Our House philosophy of care with a dynamic multi-disciplinary team.  CMAs are responsible for administering medication, assisting residents with activities of daily living, coordinating care and appointments and advocating for resident’s needs.  CMAs work as a team with other clinical staff to manage symptoms and behaviors in our diverse population affected by HIV and other co-occurring conditions such as liver disease, diabetes, mental illness, and substance use. 

 

Work with exceptional staff in a nurturing, client-centered environment.  Our House is a non-profit organization that provides health and housing services for adults living with HIV/AIDS.  Our community-based program offers solutions for people with chronic homelessness, mental illness, substance use, and HIV.

Hours

24 hours per week plus on-call.  

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evening shifts, 2:30pm-11:00pm.

Qualifications:

  1. Oregon State Board of Nursing certified CMA in good standing or soon to be certified.

  2. Ability to pass a DHS background check.  

  3. Two verifiable supervisory employment references.

  4. CPR certified or the ability to become so.

  5. Experience with HIV is helpful.  Our House is willing to train a motivated individual with relevant experience.

  6. Sensitivity to issues of mental illness and substance useability to work in a harm reduction model.

  7. Basic computer skills.

  8. A strong work ethic, willingness to be flexible and to work as part of a cohesive team.
